LANDFILL EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

As Landfill Equipment Operator you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various heavy equipment, such as bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, skid steers and compactors, and other heavy machinery to ensure the safe and efficient handling of DRC waste materials. You will work as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and will play a critical role in ensuring the proper functioning of the facility. RESPONSIBILITIES: Operate a tandem axle truck to transport and deliver gravels, parts, equipment or containers to designated job sites. Adhere to all traffic laws and safe driving practices while operating the truck, ensuring the safety of yourself, fellow drivers, pedestrians and other road users. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and other equipment to ensure they are in good working condition and report any maintenance or repair needs promptly. Safely load and unload the loads onto the truck, utilizing the hydraulic lift system and securing them properly for transportation. You will work as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and will play a critical role in ensuring the proper functioning of the facility. You will assist in ensuring that the site is clean, organized, and safe for staff and all visitors. Some of the responsibilities of an equipment operator are: •Operate and maintain various heavy equipment, such as loaders, backhoes, skid steers and compactors, to move, load, and compact solid waste materials •Conduct routine equipment inspections and maintenance checks to ensure that all equipment is operating properly and safely. •Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe work environment. •Assist customers with the disposal of other recycling, like oil, small appliances, tires, etc. •Work with other members of the team to coordinate the movement and disposal of solid waste materials, DRC and recycling. •Maintain a clean and organized work area (including cribs and piles) to ensure safe and efficient operations, including, but not limited to: raking, shoveling, sweeping and general cleanup. •Aid other team members as needed to ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner. •Fill in for other positions on site as and when needed. •Complete all required paperwork and documentation accurately and in a timely manner. As a Scale Attendant at a Solid Waste Eco Depot, you will be responsible for weighing incoming and outgoing vehicles and materials, collecting fees, and maintaining accurate records. You will also provide excellent customer service by answering questions and directing customers to appropriate areas of the facility. Additionally, you will work closely with other employees to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the facility. Responsibilities include: •Operate the scale and weigh incoming and outgoing vehicles and materials, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. •Collect fees and issue receipts for incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. •Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including weight tickets and daily revenue reports. •Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, providing information, and directing customers to appropriate areas of the facility. •Direct customers to the right location for the disposal of other recycling, like oil, small appliances, tires, etc. •Ensure that all visitors comply with the site's rules and regulations. •Assist in maintaining a safe and clean work environment (including cribs and piles), including regular cleaning and maintenance of the scale, office, and surrounding areas. SITE ATTENDANT

As a Site Attendant you assist in managing the daily operations of our Solid Waste Eco Depot or Transfer Station. You will be responsible for ensuring that the site is clean, organized, and safe for staff and all visitors. The site attendant will also assist in the handling of solid waste, including sorting, recycling, and disposal of waste materials. The site attendant must have excellent communication and customer service skills, as they will be interacting with members of the public regularly. Responsibilities include: •Welcome and greet all visitors to the Solid Waste Eco Depot / Transfer Stations, and provide them with guidance on the proper disposal of their waste materials. •May collect fees and issue receipts for incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. •Ensure that all visitors comply with the site's rules and regulations. •Manage the intake, sorting, and disposal of waste materials. •Assist customers with the disposal of other recycling, like oil, small appliances, tires, etc. •Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the site, including the sorting and disposal areas. •Assists in maintaining a safe and clean worksite (including cribs and piles), including, but not limited to: raking, shoveling, sweeping, picking up garbage/debris and cutting grass. Requirements: •Prior experience working in a waste management or recycling facility is an asset, but not required. •Knowledge of safe waste handling procedures and regulations is an asset, but not required. •Excellent communication and customer service skills. •Ability to work independently and as part of a team. •Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects. •Ability to work in all weather conditions. As Welder/Fabricator at Borrow Enterprises, you are part of heavy equipment shop. You will be responsible for performing welding and fabrication tasks on various heavy equipment components and structures. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining and enhancing the functionality and durability of our equipment, ensuring the smooth operation of our operations. Responsibilities: Welding and Fabrication: •Perform various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick. •Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine project requirements. •Measure, cut, and shape metal pieces using tools such as shears, saws, torches and break press. •Operate welding equipment and machinery safely and efficiently. •Conduct inspections to identify welding defects and make necessary repairs. •Perform structural repairs and modifications on heavy equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. •Collaborate with management, shop foreman and maintenance team to provide input on design improvements and modifications. •Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to fabricate metal components and structures. •Utilize various fabrication techniques, such as cutting, bending, grinding, and drilling, to shape and assemble metal parts. •Operate metalworking machinery, such as presses, lathes, and mills, to fabricate components. •Maintain inventory of raw materials and welding/fabrication supplies and report shortages as necessary.
